After so many, many months some with little activity, the kitchen remodel project has been completed. The big question everyone asks me after such a long project, is: “Would you do it again if you had the opportunity?” My answer is Yes and No! I truly enjoyed the planning, the woodworking and the various stages of excitement as the project moved forward. I learned so many new techniques and skills as I always do with a large project. I am thrilled with the results and I hope my readers enjoy what they see as well. Yes, I will take on another learning experience such as this one, No, I will not let a project occupy more than 18 months of my time. It is just too long and life is just too short!
Now, that having been said, the rest of the interior remodel will still include hardwood floors throughout the rest of the home, but I will NOT be installing them my self as I had planned. And since the beginning of this project I have met the love of my life. In fact, Maribel worked side-by-side with me while the doors were cut from stock, machined, sorted, assembled and sprayed with our HVLP setup. I could not have completed this project without her help and support. “Thank you baby!” Since we plan to spend our life together in this home, a the new outdoor living area is under design as I write. A beautiful Florida style enclosed pool area encompassing the entire back yard should be completed in the next six months. Though not a wood working project, I know I will manage to slip a few elements of my shop resources into the project before I am done. Pictures to follow of course.
Enjoy then new pictures. Your comments and questions are greatly appreciated.
